Let's bake



Last days of winter

Christmas memories are nice even when it is (cold) March outside. I like to bake my own version of Christmas pudding with lots of fruit, both dried and fresh. I took some photographs last December and now I find them worthy of making a small painting. Still using the limited palette of Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow, Ultramarine plus Burnt Umber and Titanium White.

Well, happy Christmas then!

So it became the Festive Season, acrylic, canvas 24x30 cm. The result is to be seen in My gallery.



Sold in October 2021 to private collectors R.K and H.K in Hollum

You'll Get Over It

  What could possibly happen? Something tragic, I assume. I am sure you can imagine dozens of situations where this setting could be possible. Regret, revelation, anger, shock, despair, compassion, support, consolation, reassurance, forgiveness, unbelief, doubt, fear... All of these might apply to the people in this painting. And all these are actually expressed with hands. And there will be nothing of these when you think those hands away, I'm afraid.   This is another small one in my series Hands' Private Life. I painted it all prima with my limited palette of Burnt sienna, Ultramarine blue, Yellow ochre, Cadmium red and Titanium white. As reference, I used the photographs Paul and myself took of me and my hands, in four different settings.    While thinking about how to name this piece, with my music on, the Legacy by PSB suddenly started to playback. Valta & Sorgdrager Museum

  Another summer show Some exciting news! Two of my paintings, which capture details of the exterior and interior of the historic Sorgdrager House, have been selected by the Amelander Musea for a summer exhibition at the Sorgdrager Museum. I am very proud to have my work represented there with pieces titled " Bij Sorgdrager " and " Downstairs VII ". Update December 2025: The Amelander Musea Foundation has acquired five paintings of mine, these two among them.
